During DJ Expo in Atlantic City, the Senate House Party put the craft in the room. The Dusk Complex hosted a night centered on turntablism, selection, and the connection between the DJs and the crowd.
Skill with a purpose
The event brought members together to share what they do behind the decks. Technique mattered, but so did timing, reading the floor, and knowing how to move between records, genres, and eras.
That balance is what makes a DJ performance more than a sequence of tracks: the choices between them shape the experience.
Part of the Senate archive
Published in August 2016, this feature preserves the House Party’s place in the collective’s DJ Expo history. It is a record of that gathering, not a current event listing.
